Howzit tjd, The picture of the flying fish just may be the thing that identifies your board and could make it findable. The guy who got his board stolen a few weeks back here got it back when an upstanding surfer/citizen went to the ice heads house who stole it and took it back to the owner. Hopefully the same will happen to you.Aloha, kokua

wow this board rides unreal! how much will you pay me for it? I mean um…

just kidding the board looks nice i really hope you get that board back. how was the board, if you don’t mind my asking?

Sorry for your loss.

I have to say though I think anybody who leaves their board strapped to their roof while their vehicle is unattended is out of their mind. I see guys at my local break who bring multiple boards and leave the extras on the roof racks while they surf for hours. If you do that what do you expect to happen. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t condone it, I just think common sence would dictate not leaving valuable boards unattended on your racks. Mabee its just here in the heavily populated northeast but I wouldn’t think of ever leaving a board in my racks…not even in my own driveway.

I was looking at your pictures with the boards on the racks mounted on the fence. I live in an upscale NorthEast beach resort in a quiet neighborhood but I can assure you if I set up something like that in my yard and left the boards out there all the time they would all dissappear within 4 months.

tj,

Sorry about the board. There are still places where you can leave your board unattended without worrying too much about pathetic rip-offs. I almost always have a couple of boards in the back of my truck. You ready for the Travel Board? Mike

ha the funny thing is …

the guy who took my board was worried some one else was going to take it…

i never lock my doors and always leave sticks tied to my roof with rope

they lay in the front yard, over by the saw, next to the garden,in plain view…

well with this clark thing i now am having second thoughts …locking doors meens lost keys in my world…i got the board back if your can believe that

i love oregon

i posted on the surfpage and 8 hours later i get a call with a funny story …i bet he will be a nice person and a good hook up as i will be to him …

rooster…o yea im so ready for that board …too bad the swell up here is crap-o la…maybe the straits …NOT…westport is ok …ive been so busy tring to pay off that damn credit card …i did however buy a nuuhiwa noserider today so i will be working even more now…got to love credit…

i hope to get down to point arena soon to see a friend then i can bring her(the board) north for the spring,

thanks for all the replys …ice? what the phuck

i hope are boards come home…ambrose lost a bunch too…

i bet they are under some ice house… dang it…

Howzit tjd, So I guesss you got the board back from the guy who was worried about it being stolen. Aloha,Kokua

tjd,

Good news. Glad you got your board back. I did move several of my more valuable boards to a safer location instead of in plain view in my carport. Even my G-Man(garbage collector) asked me if any of my boards have been ripped off since the Clark thing. tjd, if you can give me a heads-up when you’re going to be in Point Arenas area. It’s a good three hour drive for me, but love driving up the coast and might be able to meet you there. Or, we can make another arrangement. Damn windy in the Spring, though. Maybe not compared to Oregon. Mike

Glad you got your stick back. If this ever happens to you again, or anyone else, you can report it at StolenSurfboardsOnline.com and have others keeping an eye out for it. And in turn everyone can keep an eye out for the boards already reported on that site. It only covers Florida and Cali right now, but the site is growing rapidly and done as a public service. I’m sure they will be happy to start new sections for other states.

It also gives the police a way to contact the owner through the website to verify a board that you see is stolen, and a city of origin to contact the local law enforcement there.

Imagine if all shapers put a little tag under the glass on boards saying something like:

To help prevent theft and accidental loss current ownership of this board is tracked by the original shaper as a free service.

To change the current ownership of this board please phone +01-2345-6789 and supply your details and the following serial number.

If you know the last known real owner it’s simple enough to contact them and verify the sale/gift/whatever. What’s a phonecall or two?
