this 8’9’’ was stolen this evening at cowell’s. it belongs to a 10 year
old and was shaped for him by his dad. it was taken from the back of a
pickup truck around sunset. the grom who it was stolen from is a good
kid and well loved in the neighborhood. if you see it grab it. stealing
from a kid- not good.
what are they going to do with a distinctive board like that ? hide it in there garage . there not going to surf it in santa cruz . will keep and eye out for it in beatiful glassy linda mar . shoot the post down to ventura and santa barbara and socal .
thanks james and everyone. i don’t know what the thief was thinking. stealing from kids? locals? local’s kids? not a bright thief. we are spreading word far and wide. when the board shows up someone will see it.
i gave the dad a blank and fin box today and there have been other offers of help. gotta show the grom that most people are good
Howzit steiny, First off I hate thieves nd they are the lowest lifeform there is and when they steal a bard from a young kid it goes dble for bad Karma. What will happen is the tweaker will sell it and the buyer won't know it's a stolen board and will show up at the beach ready to try his new great deal board only to have have it identified as a stolen board. He will plead that he had no idea it was stolen and probably didn't or he would not bring it into the public eye. He will either give it back when the owner confronts him or the police will be called and they will take it as evidence. I just hope it turns up and the ki gets his board back and whoever stole it gets what he deserves. Did your frind build the whole board or just shape it and have it glassed, it is a nice board. Aloha,Kokua
hey kokua- the dad shaped and glassed the board himself at home. i think this was his second or third. he made his older son a noserider that i tried and it worked well. the dad has an artist/craftman’s eye. the coconut wireless mixed with the internet and good old fashioned flyers- the stolen board will be found sooner or later.he is well set up to make another.
thanks for the offers of help. there are so many good people in the world.
Howzit steiny, If the guy who stole it know how many swayguys are nowon the look out for that board he might just have thought twice about taking it. The Swaycops are on the case now. I imagine there are quite a few Sway guys in the Santa Cruz area and their eyes are now open and looking. Aloha,Kokua
Hey Steiny, I’ve still got the photo of the stolen Rescue Board up at the Point here in Ventura. People are looking. When I talked to the Police they told me to check “Play it Again Sports” or other second hand stores. Also pawn shops. If it was a doper then he wanted money for it and will try to sell.
you guys are good, thanks. pm me for my paypal info- i am not comfy posting it. i saw the boy whose board was stolen last night. his attitude is stellar, he is excited for the new board his dad will shape and glass. we can learn from youthful optimism, no?
