stringer de-lam

i made two boards in the last few days and on both of them the stinger has delamed in several little spots. both are BASS wood and i planed them even to the foam next to them. anyone have a guess to whats wrong? austin

I have had that problem in the past too. The resin is absorbing into the stringer leaving a weak spot. I advice I got was to brush laminating resin on the stringer. Then use a plastic squeege remove the excess. I would then glass a few hours later after I had seen that the stringer was fully coated.>>> i made two boards in the last few days and on both of them the stinger has > delamed in several little spots. both are BASS wood and i planed them even > to the foam next to them. anyone have a guess to whats wrong?>>> austin http://www.viser.net/~anthwind/

One trick I use is when I’m finished wrapping the rails I make one more pass down the stringer with the squeegee before I clean up. Hope this helps. Kokua
