Has anyone tried mixing styrene with gloss resin. If so, did it help? Gloss resin on it’s own just seems to thick to lay out evenly.
kokua’s magic gloss resin recipe calls for an extra squirt of styrene and surfacing agent. the results speak for themselves.
Howzit deabo, Add 10 % styrene and a couple of squirts of SA( about 5% ) to your gloss, this will thin it out so it will aly down nice and flat. A flatter smoother gloss coat makes for easier sanding and polishing. Get your self one of those plastic quart containers with 2oz gradients on the side so you can see howmuch styrene and SA you are adding and make sure you strain your gloss resin and mix the extra chems realy good before catalyzing and applying. As you can tell soulstice likes the way it works.Aloha,Kokua
Thanks for the advice. My first gloss coat was a mess…
