hi all, considering making a 6’8 single fin egg. around 15x20x14, diamond tail. going to use with a flex fin. any suggestions on rocker, blank selection, or position of fin box? also, i want to paint something on the board, im guessing the best time to do this is after the sanded hot coat before the gloss. what kinds of paints can i use… any special techniques? thanks, steve
as far as paint you have to use water-based paint. most airbrush spray is water-based. if not sure it’s good to test it first. for more rocker info…there were some posts further down the list under eGGman. some good replies…
sorry, that’s the wrong post…maybe someone will chime in with some good info.
The rocker I use for this board is 4’’ in the nose and 2.5"-3" depending on the bottom shape i.e. vee,concave,etc.The blank is a Walker 7’4". I place the fin box 6" from the tip of the tail. Use the Greenough stage 4 fin at 9" it is the best for these boards, the Rainbow Tk flex is better for the 2+1 set up in my opinon. Stay soul, Rick http://www.ancientartsurfboards.com
