Suggestions on this board

Had this stored away for years and basically forgot about - 7’2" Jim Oveltin?? Barring the throw gasoline on it and light in on fire suggestions - any ideas as to whether to restore it, give it away? Or, is it possible to make it into something else?

Has a waveset fin that broke (tip is gone) and was drilled for a leash - too bad.

Thanks,

Herb Bean

That’s a cool board! I have a few Overlin boards, one made by Jim, the other made by Tom. My dad’s friend is really into Overlin boards and he’d definitely tell you to hold onto it.

whats holding that thing up in that rocker picture? just wondering.

It’s just kind of leaning against the wall sideways for the picture.

I sanded it down yesterday and the deck came out pretty nice. The bottom was okay too until I got back around the fin box. the box has multiple cracks and there some delam around it and the tail - needs a fair amount of surgery. And as said earlier, the fin is pretty a loss. Suggestions/ideas?

~fix damages and glass a fin on it - stick it back under the deck as a loaner.

~convert it into something that I would be more likely to use. The template has potential for a fish’ish shape but the rails are 50/50 and it has a very slight belly in the forward part of the board.

~restore it - my last option as I’m not that in love with the thing.

Thanks,

Herb Bean

wow, it looks much better just like that…

I’d round the nose, take about a foot off the tail and make it a 6 footish twin fin disc.

if it has belly on the bottom , as well as 50/50 rails, and an s-deck [?looks like it from the rocker pic ?], it’s similar to my wilderness’. [c.1967-1969, I wonder ?]

Please ride it, for me, just to let me know how it goes… and then you can hopefully tell mehow to make these designs work !!

thanks mate !

It came up nice eh, once the wax is removed, and it’s been sanded ? It’s amazing the difference something as small as that can make !!
