sun cure uvc 2000 and ding repair measuring question

What is the best method for measuring small quantities of UVC to mix with polyester resin for ding repairs?

When using normal liquid catalyst I usually just do an estimate. How accurate do the quantities need to be, says on the packet it MUST be exact!

I have a small packet of powder for 1 gallon or 3.8 litres. It does not say the weight/quantity of the powder.

Maybe weigh the contents of the packet on a digital scale, then do the appropriate math.

hmmm,

I guess a VERY small scale or mix up a big batch and keep it in a UV protective container...

claude,

The UVC powder is meant to be mixed with the resin and stored in an opaque container.  Once mixed you can still use hardener if you are doing something like fin boxes, tints etc.  If its the same as what's available from Surf Sorce its 11 cc of powder to 1 gallon of resin.  The shelf life of the UV resin doesn't seem to be any different than that of the plain resin as long as its in an appropriate container

Dave

Thanks,

Same stuff (powder) as Surf Source. Surf Source have pdfs and i also found some other info recommending using a medical measuring scoop.

15ml powder to 1 litre of resin.

"Shake for no less than 5 minutes and let stand for 20mins."
