Sunday San Diego Swaylocks

Ok folks, time for the San Diego crew to gather once again for a resin-slinging, stringer-planing, blank-mangling good time. THIS SUNDAY 12/16 - 10am to whatever time we go surfing. Yes it’s short notice but the year is almost over too

Bring your projects (finished or half-baked), bring your templates, bring your good attitude, bring your hotdogs and burgers yearning to be cooked. Be There or Don’t.

I’ll bring 3 growlers of Green Flash to slake the thirst of anyone involved in resin swirl demonstrations…

Where do we meet?

I would like to meet some of you guys… and learn.

anyone have a template of a 6’2" or so Pavel’ish quad or a 7’ ish bonzer egg or the board itself to template would be even better. I have some poly blanks that need a planer taken to them.

if I make it sunday will we actually get to surf this time?

just kidding…

I hope you all have a good one

I know I will as I start my holidays on Friday

my best to everyone…

good times for sure…

Last years gathering was a good time. I’ll be there on Sunday. I’ll stop by Siesel’s and pick up some burger meat.

I’ll bring my 6.2 pavel.

Sorry I know nothing about this, but where does it go down?

Howzit Bernie, come on over! We should have some waist high surf this time - sorry it was so flat when you were here for the last one.

Don’t forget your wetsuit though, the water is chilly!!

I’ll stroll the boy on by. See you Sunday.

Keith,

Sorry I can’t make it this time. Hope you all have a great time, take lots of pics and post !

I have a stringerless poly blank that is somewhat shapedand yellowed from sitting in the sun. A single pass of 100 grit will bring it back to pure white. I’ll bring it for anyone to use as a “test” blank for any kind of glassing they want to do. If you want it to be rideable, you will have to finish/shape the rails…

Geez, that’s really personal, what are you, some kind of Renaissance Man?

Thanks! I’ll bring a gallon of poly and my tiny collection of pigments. I should also have an extra yard of two of 4 oz – not enough to glass a side I don’t think, but it’s the makings of a demo…

Thanks for hosting again Keith…Stoked to see everyones shapes.

Thanks for your hospitality, Keith! Good to see everyone and learn tons of great stuff. Can’t wait for the next one…

resinhead teaching class:

“Don’t let them talk you into too many colors!” Keith demos:

Bummbed that I missed it, looks like fun.

wooohooo !!!

more photos , please !!

…and …were there any californica girls there ??

 cheeeeeerrrrrsssss !

ben

Roxy was there and she was only wearing her necklace!

Thanks Keith and Judy. Ray’s GTO is unbelievable. We put in one set of boxes for the quad set up, but not before I nearly took his arm off with some one-handed router juggling. Good to see everyone again and the quality of the boards is just amazing.

Thanks Keith ,

I forgot to take home my brand new can of 3M spray glue. It’s yours now! Great to talk to all the people and see all the boards. Those big wave guns are wild!

Love all the wood stuff too. Rhino’s resin pin lines came out sweet…I installed the second set of boxes for Lee’s board Sunday night after I got home.
