Very attractive design, and good workmanship. I have a question about paddles. When the blade is offset by some number of degrees from the handle shaft, does the blade angle back toward the paddler, or away from the paddler, when in use?

angles away from the water. You dont want to “cup” the water, you want to be lifted out of it…
Thanks Bill,
Blade is angled forward from the paddler. (like the six-man / one-man outrigger canoe paddles). I guess the theory here is that when you are holding the paddle at the back of your stroke and pulling the paddle out of the water the bend in the blade keeps the paddle more perpendicular to the water surface. If the blade is angled back you would be pulling the canoe/paddleboard down into the water.

Mokulele,
GOT IT! That is what I thought it would be. Just wanted confirmation from a voice of experience. Thank you.
