Super thin pu/epoxy experiment

Hockey Sticks… That is a killer idea! That brings to mind something I’d been wondering about. Has anybody seen a board where the fin is actually an extension of the stringer, i.e. one piece?

Still alive. Rides pretty good.

“Rides pretty good.”

more detail , please ?

eg:

surf size , does it spin out ?

fin/s …size / placement

‘idiosyncracies’

Hey chip:

There are pics of the board here:http://www.hoharlabs.com/math.htm

It is a twinzer and the fins are set rather far back so the board is a bit tighter than you’d expect, in a good way. I’d say I’ve probably done my best figure 8/roundhouse turn on this particular board. No big spin out issues in spite of twinzer set up. Very fast. This is also the first board I’ve done that didn’t feel “ideosyncratic”–it just feels good. The low volume takes getting used to while paddling out and sitting in the line up. However, it catches waves great (weird) and once up and planing the volume is not really an issue.

I’ve surfed it only in beach break–ranging from ankle slapping and soft to a little overhead and heaving. Works fine within this range. I’d say waist to chest and juicy is ideal (no $%^& right?). It clings to a steep face on a high line which is certainly a fish must. Minimal barrel experience with it. I surf it conservatively. No big ass floaters or areal stuff. Flex is quite noticeable. I don’t know how long that will last. It’s out of commission right now with a fin repair (inside of wood fin delamed).
