Super Zoom Cameras

Actually, it has a lens equal to a 15-600mm zoom. Certainly not 600x

600/15 = 40x

No extra program needed to view the exif data of a photo.  Simply right click on the photo and save it to your computer…then find the photo on your computer and open it in the windows photo program.  Go to file properties and you will see the data.

Which Windows photo program is that? I don’t believe I have such a thing. I use XP Pro.

OK. I just discovered that Microsoft Office Picture manager has that capability. Since it’s a program I never use, I wasn’t aware of it. All my photo processing is done with Photoshop, which I’ve been using for at least 15 years. I’ve been using iExif for many years and so never bothered to look for that function in other programs. Although, it does seem that the Windows method is less comprehensive with far less data displayed.

I have Windows 7 and it works with either Windows Photo Viewer or Windows Live Photo Gallery.  I think it works the same with Vista…don’t know about XP.

Here is a piture I took today.  Below it are screen shots of the properties of the file.  The camera itself determines how many of the fields are filled out…depends on the camera.

Thanks all, for the info.

XP Pro includes Windows picture and fax viewer. There is no exif function that I can find. My current machine came with Vista, but I disliked it so much a set up a dual boot system and always work in XP Pro. When I get a new machine, I will probably default to whatever OS it has, hopefully not Vista.

I believe I’ve been using Opanda exif viewer since back when I had Win2k as my OS. So, I never bothered to look for a similar utility in a Windows bundle.

Taken from up on a cliff and about 500 yards away so went to 36x zoom on my Panasonic FZ200, which is past the 600mm optical zoom (equal to 24x) and into the electronic zoom, which softens things up a tad.  Sun obscured by a high cloud layer.  Couple of da boyz taking turns on their ski towing into 100+ yard peelers having hella fun.  Not another surfer within miles…
