Anyone know the names of some good modern type surf artists (like the styles in Sprout), or some websites?
Got to look at something while the surf sucks.
Muchas Gracias

Here’s a few off the top of my head. Not sure about all the spelling. You will have to check.
Kevin Short
Rick Griffin
Andy Davis,
Thomas Campbell (Sprout)
Wolfgang Bloch
Twist (Barry McGee)
Ed Templeton
John Severson (Surfer Mag)
These People are all different and by no means cover the broad spectrum of what we know as “Surf Art.”
Also: Try making some art of your own if your feeling it.
Enjoy

Hey Brendan!
Nice topic. I think we can find a new surf artist in every place around the world. All with different styles and technics, but all with the same passion to the subject. Particularly, I know three excellent artists here in Brazil, more preciselly, in Florianopolis where I live. I will try to find some samples of their work and post in Swaylocks later. Now I have these ones from this friend nicknamed “Duda”. I hope you enjoy them.
More art…and the artist…
Here’s some of my surf art. I know it’s not very “Sprouty” but it’s what I like to do.
Check out the following two painters with very different approaches:
The website for Kevin Short is http://www.kevinashort.com/. Kevin is plein air style. I love his glare paintings.
Try Scott McDougall for some nice waves, http://home.earthlink.net/~uforick/mcduck/paintings/wave_th.html. Scott is doing lots of wave scapes.
Hope you enjoy. Attached is one painting from each off their websites.
I cant beleive noone mentioned Drew Brophy yet, Kinda pionerr of the posce style but he has some great stuff
