surf bus

I saw a 1971 VW bus that looks decent and drives OK. It’s a cool looking surf bus. It’s $2,500 is this a fair price? Is this a good and practicle vehicle to travel up and down the coast with a quiver of multiple boards and surf/camp for a few days or so at a time. What about longer remote trips into baja? Seems like a really cool surf car. My heart loves the 1971 vibe the magic bus is giving me. My brain just don’t know about 32+ year old car with that little 4cyl engine and manual brakes. Any comments experiences or insights are appreciated.

How old is the engine and tranny?

Paul, I need a nice wood fin for a 9’longboard I shaped for my sister. It came out nice, looks just like the Hansen Classic. I want to doll it up with a Jensen fin. Got any suggestions? Thanks bro

Yup, I had a 71 bus, bought it newe & drove it for 10 + years. It went thru three engins, one bumper & two wives. When I let it go it still had the original paizly curtians & fold down Z-bed. That bus led a hard life but it never left me stranded & there was never anything you couldn’t fix with the idiots guid & bailing wire. Ya it was a cool ride!! http://dreamflagproductions.com
