surfboard #1 (thank you swaylocks)

wow that looks like an amazing board. have you ridden it yet. looks like it will go real well. let us know how it goes ay.

thanks mate.

i hadn’t planned any art for the board. i didn’t want to draw attention to it if it turned out crappy!

plus i am a man of simple tastes. and even simpler pocket book.

if i choose to do something, can i just clean the board and do it?

what do i use to paint on epoxy resin?

cheers, nicholas

paipo and everyone else:

thank you for the kind words. very encouraging. i agree it went well, but i also did a huge amount of research before and during.

couldn’t have done it with out you all.

so if my board looks that good, i expect a job and a place to stay when i come to hawaii or california!

cheers, i’ll do the same with the next board.

nicholas

Just my opinion but I think you’ve got too much fin for the board. Good for nose riding as it will pull the tail down, good for pivoting around, very stable. But, if you want to fly, drive, glide…try a Frye. Whatever way you go, be sure to try different settings in the box. With a single fin especially, a 1/4 inch up or back will give you a noticable difference in performance.

Hey Mate,

I think it will ride insane. In relation to the artwork, I’m not sure, but I guess it can be painted as poly ones. Just have to be sanded a little (100 grit water) before painting. If you search through the swaylock’s database you will find more info, for sure. Good luck!!

Nice 1 for #1!

Posca pens are easy to use and work great for adding color to you board. You can get them from Fiberglass Hawaii, Foam EZ, or numerous other places. You can also use spray paint like Krylon for plastic. Go over the paint with a clear sealer.
