Hey McDing - thanks. I was all set to pull the trigger on the Thule, based on all the good reviews here, but then I kinda choked a bit on the price - right around $400! Yikes - as you know, the economy is a bit rank in this neck of the woods, like most everywhere right now, I guess. Yes, I do want some of that cloth. You got plenty? I'll probably like about 7 yards, if its in my budget. PM me the price. - Huck

Inno Universal Mount Locking Surfboard Rack for Car, Truck, or SUV
sorry for the text formatting. .I copied and pasted from amazon:

My friend has these and they are awesome. We've put three longboards on there and no problems. No hum and they lock with a key. If you're bringing loads of boards to the beach you can leave a few locked on the car when you paddle out and no worries. They have a racheting mechanism to tighten so don't overdo it. I've almost added a few unecessary dings from cranking that thing down. They're pretty fast too.

So, is this the complete package, or do I need to purchase some bars with this thing? The description was a bit vague. thanks, Huck
nope. You’ll need to get the crossbars too. That’s just for the pads and locking parts.
Wow! What all does that include? I've never paid over $200-250. That was for a gutterless and a gutter mount. One set came with locks. Bought at a surf shop in SLO. The cloth is $3.25 per yard or a thirty yard "short" roll for $85.
Howzit McDing, I think the first Aloha Racks with the suction cups cost less than $15 .Aloha,Kokua
Yakimas with Noodle tubes for pads…easy to find the wreck in parking lots!

McDing - that was the basic package, clamps, bars, and straps. Locks and pads extra - gotcha $$. 30 yd roll sold.
proneman - thanks for the tip, I'll look into that.
