I grew up surfing the Gulf, started at age 12. Growing up in those waves gives you such an appreciation for every moment of decent surf. And yes, it does get good there. If you’re ever out there, definitely try SURFSIDE! It think its the best spot in Texas. Also, go visit nearby Pat MacGee’s. Awesome shop/museum!
