Glenn Hening and the Groundwell Society is having its First Surfing, Arts, Science and Issues Conference (SASIC) this Saturday, October 27, at 9:00 a.m. at the Ventura Holiday Inn overlooking C Street. Sessions which may be of interest to Swaylocksaddicts include: Building A Better Surfboard A Surfer Builds A Research Vessel The First Surfriders: Research From Northern Peru I myself would love to see the session on “John Kelly, Pioneer Surfer/Environmentalist.” Anybody remember seeing that space-age longboard Kelly rode in the early '60s, with a tri-plane tail and foiled fin – years before Greenough. There will also be a dinner program on Saturday night at 6:00, followed by a screening of “Rolling Thunder” and live music. Glenn invites everyone to a Sunday morning surfing event at 8:00 a.m. to bring along “your all wood classic or all-time favorite board” for a traditional Chumash watercraft blessing ceremony and surf session to follow. We should all support Glenn’s efforts. Rory

The combined efforts of founders Jericho Poppler Bartlow, Glenn Hening, and Matt Meyerson are long overdue. http://www.surflink.com/groundswell/gswell_main.htm
Dale: Thanks for the tip, I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit there. Made a bookmark for that one.
