hi crew !
i hope you had a great christmas ?
i am chasing an article by a doctor in the november 2006 issue of ‘surfing’ magazine .
does anyone have that issue , please ?
if so , can i please get a photocopy of the article ?
[…the previous month’s article dealt with the effects surfing has on your body over many years , and the november issue that i am chasing was going to address what can be done regarding the long term effects on the body from a life of surfing . ]
so , if you have the article in question , if you pm me , i will send you my address
thanks very much ,
the help would be GREATLY appreciated !!

chip, sure it wasn’t 2007? it sounds like a recent one I just read
Now that would be an interesting pair or articles.
I have one of the verterbrae in my upper back which needs clicking back in periodically by the chiropractor and he has many other surfers come to him to have the same thing done.
When it goes out I get pain in/around my shoulder blade and when its really bad it feels like a have a steel spike going through my chest and out through my shoulder blade.
Seems to be from hyper-extension of the spine when paddling.
I wouldn’t be suprised if many who read this know what I’m talking about.
I’m now also having to get upper verterbrae in my neck adjusted which tilt forward instead of back. Though I don’t know if this relates to surfing.
Oh bother! I believe I’ve just opened a can of worms.
