Surfing on the Big Island - March - questions

I may be going to the Big Island, Hawaii for about a week in March with my non-surfing lady. I’ve never been there - can anyone suggest some good, somewhat mellow, yet fun breaks around the island. I surf everything from 7’ Fish to 10’ log. I’ve got decent skills and confident in the water but not into hairball insane, sharky, or heavily localized heavy situations. Should I bring a board(s)? or Rent? What type’s of boards are best suited and if I rent, can anyone recomend a good place to rent boards. Surf accsesable places to stay and the scoop on da grinds are also appreciated. Any links/books/leads/tips much appreciated. Thanks.

…No matter what size you ride…you need a hi-pro board bra!Try lyman’s or banyon tree just south of Kailua on the Kona side, there’s lots of other spots, but try these first if you can.Herb
