Found an old 6’ McCoy fish (circa 1979), I dont have any experience riding vintage boards. Is something like this worth riding, or is the glass going to be uber brittle or something like that at this point? (Or something that should be preserved)
Vintage twinfin. Not fish.

Where did you get that idea? The glass job on that is probably stronger than anything you might buy off the rack, today.
And, that isn’t even close to being a “fish”.
My only experiences with plastics 5+ years older than myself is them being old and brittle
(figured with the yellowing of the foam it could be prone to delams or something)
If you don’t surf it that would be criminal haha. I’m jealous
At least you know its from Australia with the Roo sticker, and the Mambo sticker too. Prolly 2x 6 on deck and single 6 underneath, gloss coat.
Unusual browning on the deck considering most are worse on the hull, likely used as a display for many years with all those stickers on top too.
The stickers look period too, the Qwiky Ghetto Dog was from the early 80s, keep the stickers on because you’ll get more if you sell it.
Put it in a solid bag so it doesn’t get any more browned.
It could get you $700+ here on Aussie eBay.
Agreed. Plus, if he removes the stickers the foam underneath them is no doubt not as brown, so you get weird outlines where the stickers are. I also found it odd that the deck was so much darker. Your theory seems about right, to me.
Hey I remember those ! Very retro right at the start of the “new twin fin era” if I am not mistaken they used symetrical fins just like the old time twins like Hobie and Corky’s “Space sticks” . Later other innovators, out here So Cal we had Stussy, Lance Collins and a rash of others pushing the limits of twins. That is until Simon Anderson cured the tracking problem. Check out the lucky grom who got the last twin’r I made 1980 sorry guys jus’ remebering the past. What a BLAST, except for kicking your fins!
