Surfinz fin boxes

Hello all,

I am doing a repair on a Bulkley surfboard with fin box issues. The boxes are Surfinz. Apparently made in Australia. There seems to be one place in Ca ( surfworks) that supposedly carries the boxes but can get no replies from them. I have even tried directly to there aus business and no response either. Great business practice by both.
Anyway i know this is a long shot but I need 2 zt boxes, the 10 degree boxes if anybody happens to have any or know where to get I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you much, Mitch

Good luck.    Looks like they have an on-line store now:  http://www.surfinzusa.com/products.asp?cat=10

I’ve bought a couple pair at Basham’s.  Actually, from Bulkley hisself.

Get in touch with Brian (bulkleysurfboards@hotmail.com). From what Brian has said, the owner of Surfinz owes you a new board (he apparently guarantees that the boxes won’t break).

I had another box split like that (no guarantee).

Thanks Mako but i have tried to order from there. Always come up domain error or some shit at checkout. I have even called that number. Thanks though.

Thanks gdaddy. Appreciate the help.

Wow, thats unreal. I will get in touch with Brian. Thanks for that info on the guarantee and his email address. Lets see what happens. I do appreciate all the help.

Kind regards, Mitch

I installed mine using high density foam collars - which basically means routing them into a 1" thick piece of HD foam then cutting it out to fit the footprint and routing that into the blank.  Installed that way those boxes won’t be breaking.

What brand of fins were being used in boxes? I have a possible super easy solution.

They are made in China, like every other plastic item. Good fin box though, futures has copied their one pass router imstall system

I had a few break like that, installed exactly as instructed and the owner brushed me and said I must have hit something or installed them wrong, with no solution. I’ve swapped to gearbox now. Just as simple and the best service.

Ill give you an email contact tomorrow to get the replacement. The guy is in hong king or china

I wouldn’t fault the box for a break like that.  Even if it was made with the crapiest materials around it would still take a pretty good shot to cause that sort of fracture.

Ok I found a few through Acqua and the ding shack. I did receive a phone call from surfinz Australia and he told me they will not ship to me unless I buy in bulk and said good luck…now I see why these are not widely used. What a douche bag. And of course no return email from Brian Bulkley, didnt figure I would though.
Thank you all for the help, much appreciated.

Aloha, Mitch

If you dead end let me know, I have some Surfinz boxes not being used…

mako,

a couple of my customers said theirs broke dong turns, I was scepticle, however have since cracked 2 on frontside bottom turns. One was even the big beefy set designed to take keel fins and twinny’s. theres something dodgy with the plastic, but they don’t want to know anything about it. Hence me now using gearbox, which is the same price, lighter, stronger and just as easy install. Plus the rep here in Oz, Lance, responds quickly and goes out of his way to help out.

Mine cracked on both sides with twins after a few waves. Deep spot, definitely didn’t hit bottom. I wasn’t going to say anything to the owner but Brian brought me over and showed him. Had the same experience as you but worse. Would never use his products again.

Good to know . I don’t want to take chances with my customers boards .

Crap! Glad I saw this.

Just about to grab some.

Next stop Gearbox 2
