Does anyone know of a resource for fixing these beasts. The white outer skin/brown inner core is giving me fits. I tried white pigment to match the repair to the rest of the board, but the pigment seemed to effect the setup of the resin. I used epoxy resin and the pigment said it was compatible with eoxy resin.
If I remember correctly surftechs are painted board. You do not mix in pigment. Paint can be bought a autobody supply shop. Bring your board in there and they will match it. An added bonus of painting is UV protection. The paint can be quite toxic so be careful. http://www.viser.net/~anthwind/

you mean this is planned obsooooleesssence ? no this cant be…
Yeah…I’m not happy about having to fix this board…the advice I seem to be getting is just repair with epoxy resin/cloth and then tape off and spray paint with enamel or urethane paint to match the surrounding deck.
…and make sure,double sure it’s dry inside,or you’ll be in a world of sh"t.Herb
Hang it over a bar in a restaurant, and then go get a real board made of polyurethane. There’s a reason we have been making boards from the same materials for fifty years. It works. How many world championships have been won on a Surftech? It’s lighter and stronger, right? Seems like the perfect board for a traveling pro, so why aren’t they buying it?
…Dingleberries is great for fixing epoxy boards like surftechs and others.Herb
Howzit Abrose, Charlie just sends them to Maui,Surftech has a rep. there that does the repairs. Tell Lunchmeat that my new printer will be here today and I’ll have his lams ready by tomorrow. Hows the heat in Waipoli these days.Aloha, Kokua
