I was just posting this to see if there was any interest in a swaylocks east coast festival? Maybe taking place in the fall at Frisco in the Outer Banks?

I’m with it, pick a good weekend. This fall? Late Sept w/b good. Would love to check ot the outer banks as I have never been there yet. Good excuse for a family vacation for us older guys and would love to share the stoke. This would have to include a Swaylock raffle and all that. Glad to donate some original surf art. Keep the thread going and let’s make it happen. Nor Easter coming tomorrow / Tueday and hoping it gets a good clean day or 2.

yeah obx early fall sounds like a plan to me. the water shouldnt be to cold in september, especially in the obx

Timing is crucial, getting married right around then, but if I can work it out I’ll definitely be there.

I tried to organize this last year and I felt that I didn’t get enough positive responses. I tried to do it in July/August due to hurricane season in Sept. Plus Im a teacher and the timing didn’t work for Sept. Frisco woods seems to be the place, centraly located and as nice a place as anywhere else. If you need help let me know. John Mellor will tell you “just do it and they will come”. If the timing is right, count me in if not I’ll surely help in any way I can.

I’m 16 yrs old and used to live on the Outer Banks. That would be really awesome. I would probably drive down, seeing I don’t have any money. If it were in the Summer, I could definately make it down there.
There s world class surf in the outer banks in early fall!!! When its going off, theres no place else id rather be. Pea Island thru Hatteras has some really great breaks. A very special place. Im in!!

Awesome, I am glad I recieved some interest. I was thinking along the months of Aug/Sept./Oct. for prime surfing conditions. I guess I’ll get more info together when it starts getting closer to fall.
Edit: I was also thinkin’ the skeeters might not be as bad in the fall with the cooler nights and all.
No man, the mosquitos are REALLY bad u just brought back some memories of me getting eaten alive after walking back from a break. The water will be fine though, def high 70’s, boardshorts and rashguards nothing more is needed.
yea not too worried about the water temp, but i hate havin to listen to those buggers divebomb my tent at night trying to get some fresh blood
