hi rick, ive not used it myself but recently recomended it to a friend who’s building a stripbuilt canoe. he didnt want to use anything toxic as he is very green so this seemed ideal. he tried it with hemp but had difficulty getting it to cure so tried cotton and says its worked fine as a test. he hasnt glassed the whole canoe yet and i havent seen the one with cotton yet so cant fully vouch for it but i reckon its kosha… if you played with uv boxes i reckon you could get it to work with hemp.
ill hassle him for some pics and feedback if you want?

thanks.
Hey Rick,
I heard from a friend who’s tried it that it lacks the adhesion strength of epoxy or PE (in his experience) but that’s not to say it won’t work. Hopefully soon. It’s a step in the right direction.
As far as bio-content of the resin, I have no idea. But from my studies and tinkering on how to make bio-resin, 96% would be super phenominal.
“Green” chemistry is pretty much in its infancy right now but as long as creative minds stay focused there’s bound to be great results in that field.

i was looking into using it a couple of months ago, so i called a few companies who have tried it
they said you have to put more glass in to make it strong enough. 3 layers
another hinted that there is a catalysed plant based resin that they are using for tests that is much tougher
im waiting for that one.
