I did copy Dave Ferralls Egg shape [smile]) When I traced out the lines in my cad SW it turned out to be symetric. But Dave told mit it rather 13" nose and 15" tail… Where are those points messured? How would a symetric shape effect my board? cheers Marcus
I thought symetrical meant the same on both sides, isnt that what you would want anyway.
I don’t mean sid to side symetric but the shape (not the rocker) is tip to tail symetric…but I guess its ok…the board is nearly elliptical only a little pointier on the ends. The shape is now 192cm(6’5’‘) and 48(20’') wide right in the center of the stringer (it’s XPS so there is no stringer, but you know what I mean?) So is an elliptical shape bad? cheers Marcus
Those points were probably measured at these two points, 12" from the tip of the nose and 12" from the tip of the tail. It seems you’ve ended up with an outline that has the same measurements at both points. This is not necessarily bad, although rarely do you see a board with the same nose and tail measurements. If the outline looks good to you, I’d say go ahead and shape it, you’ll never know if it will work unless you try it.

THX…I’ll do do it [smile]) I messured my drawings at the 12’’ point and its right between 13’’ and 15’’ wide…so I was wrong on both sides…but hit the middle. BTW…I am messuring in millimeters anyways [smile]) that makes things complicated too…

Marcus dont measure your board designs in millimetres cause if you need help with things people wont be albe to help out as easily. In surfing its always in feet and inches.
I give you data in inches when I need help… It’s just not doable for me to messure in inches…got no rulers…and can’t handle the fractals of inches… no, no [smile])
Actually I will even write metrical numbers on the stringer (??it’s XPS stringerless, so where do I sign anyways??) [smile]) 192/48/6,5
