syringes

Anyone know where to source, inexpensive syringes for injecting epoxy into f…kups? I’m in the Los Angeles area.

West Marine has a 12 pack of west system epoxy syringes - great for epoxy and multiple stores should be in the LA area.  You can cut the plastic tips to make diameter changes

Im sure there are other suppliers too.... I think fiberglass supply has some and maybe a little cheaper if you have time to order.  I allways seem to need them at the last minute so I run off to West Marine.

Hope its some help,

yoyo

HA HA!  Do I?  Yeah, just had some bubbles in a wood skin too.  Looked high and low, and came across these two sources:  Medical Supply store (couldn't find one here, but used to buy stuff like that cheap up north).  I stopped by the Walmart pharmacy and asked if they had any smaller syringes for sale behind the counter (I didn't want to buy the $4 pre-pack one either). Lady said they have 5ml oral ones for 33cents each.  I asked for 6 and she just gave them to me for free!

Those oral ones are good too, because you can heat the tip and pull it thin with small pliers and most of the time it will remain hollow.

I'm not in LA, but any medical supply store should be able to help you. You'll get  a weird look when you ask for a syringe, but as long it doesn't have a needle it shouldn't be a problem. Before I had a digital scale, I used two 100cc (I think) syringes to measure out tiny amounts of epoxy for small ding repairs.

did you try Fiberglass Services in Gardena…?

know someone that works in the ER room at the hospital

Just wander around some back alleys… Go barefoot

I use the cheap turkey basting syringes from Wal-Mart, Academy, etc.

But seriously, having the needle is really useful.

You can just stab it through the skin and inject.

Much less invasive than drilling our cutting.

Not seriously - find some discarded syringes, put on your dirty shaping clothes and head down to the needle exchange. Free!

Good point. I used to use a regular type of large injection syringe from a local fiberglass supply with a needle that looked like a jumbo version of a hypodermic. I imagine it could be used by horse heads that just need more. haha The turkey basters are the same except the needle has side holes close to the point with a really strong point on them for jabbing into meat. A small pilot drill bit from walmart or any hardware store works great to get it under the skin of a surfboard. If you need the hole at the end, you can cut or grind the end of the needle off at the middle of the top side hole or just below it, or just grind it off at a really shallow to get a normal style of point.

Fiberglass Hawaii in ventura,  Call them with a credit card number, two sizes, about a buck each,  UPS to you door in about two days.  No needle though.

just become a nurse like me…naw…99 cents only stores…  bra !!!

Howzit llilibel, Like Herb said I have a bunch left over that never got used when I was on a stomach feeding tube. They hold 60 cc's each and are new and would be willng to give you as many as you want for free. Just send me your address and I will send them ASAP. My email address is wildog@hawaiiantel.net .  They are just sitting around and if any one needs some just let me know, these are bigger than what you can find at the pharmacy. Herb is familiar with these. Aloha,Kokua

kokua is right on -

All i use is the 30 and 60 ml syringes that they give people who have g-tubes etc. If you have a nice size box just keep one out for resin, one for hardener. They are good for a few dings then get clogged. If you befriend, live with or have a medical condidtion where you get these things another upside is you usually get an unlimited supply of gloves and graduated 4oz mix (specimen) cups.

If you roll up to a CVS or Wallgreens and ask for the syringes they will usually give you a handfull of the 10 or 15 ml ones for free… obviously no needles. Then look at you strange.
