hi, i know it depends on what board you are making , fish ,hpsb , single fin etc but what do you find are good tail rocker dims for different size boards ,
some 6ft hpsb i measured are 2- 2.5 inches ,
i like about 1.75- 2.25 on a 6ft 4 -6ft 6 board , 2.5 inches and i can feel it does/nt drive as good for me ,
i dont know what a 6ft fish would have , less probabally ,
On some big longboards I've measured as much as 5" tail rocker. As you know, there are infinite curves that result in the final rocker at the tips. Some 'break' abruptly and are rather flat (or even reversed) behind the break while others break gradually and the curve accelerates at the end.
It's generally a good idea to take a measurement at 6", 12", 18" and 24" to get a better idea. That, or use a rocker stick.
If a rocker stick is available it is a good idea to measure rocker in multiple places besides just the stringer. Tail concaves and vee can confuse the issue.
At some point a computer scan begins to make a lot of sense.
If I continued my rocker smoothly from centre to tail, I’d get around 2.25", but I “flip” the last 4" so I end up 2.5", so end figure can mislead what the actual flow from low point to tail actually is.
