Takayama double ender?? Anyone?

Has anyone ridden a takayama double ender?? Found a cheap 9’8 surftech (I know most people hate epoxy popouts) the website says it shines in overhead waves but wondering how it does also in some smaller stuff. Thanks

I’ve ridden these in the past. They are still an old school mal with soft eggish rails and flat rocker. The tail would make it better in larger waves than the Model T but there are plenty of other boards for bigger waves than this. If your thing is old style boards then this would be OK compared to other boards of this type.

Sorry, missed the last bit to your last question. I think it would be great in small waves, big volume, big surface area board with flatter rocker, quite nimble with the pulled in tail.

I had a Tak 9’8’ double ender. It was a great board in most any conditions. Handled large and small surf well. It was a poly hand shape tho. Personally I wouldn’t touch a Surftech. It’s a whole different animal.

A bit late but for the googlers out there I just posted a review of my 9'6 PU Tak on my blog:

Hope this helps :)
