i was wondering if anyone has seen or rode a tear/rain drop shaped board… preferably a longboard… i was going to shape one for fun but couldn’t find any info on one… nothing drastic just a larger nose (20 ish) smaller body ( 19 ish) and smaller tail (13 ish) i’m going to shape it anyway but was just looking for feedback i also intend to use the drop through out the thickness of the board ie. nose as thick as the body tapering at the body then tapering off the tail… any comments would be appreciated jg
when its glassy …heavenly…when it light onshore whoopie re-entry deluxe when its offshore lock down and prepare for air launch…approprate landing gear and posture imperative and subsequent grinding G-force turn loading to be anticipated … light construction inappropriate as a fluttering drop can cappitalize disaster…WHOA NELLIE…ambrose …mine was 15 7/8 with a 10" tail an a 13 1/2" nose maybe 13 3/4"
Maybe I’m just a crap surfer but with all that volume up front and none behind I’d find it very difficult getting into the wave, especially in offshores, based on a similar board that a shaper f*%ked up on me
if you are Northern/central Cal check the San Jose Museum of arts surf culture show- there is an old on’neill lovecraft hanging that is worth a gander, teardrop to the extreme- actually the whole show is worth a gander- bring the wife and kiddies.
check the archives under boards in the 8’-8’11" section.there is an 8’8" Paul Gross semi gun( kinda teardrop like) that may give you some ideas.
You read my mind. I was thinking Lazer Zap!
