I am about to start my first board and I need a template for a mini longboard. Maybe something like a Hobie Mini Black Bird or a Walden Compact Disc. Anyone know where I can find these templates.

I guess your were not kidding. Maybe more info would help. I’m not very familiar with ‘models’ per se, but perhaps you could include some round about numbers, your size and weight, type of surf you need this type of board. And check the photo archives. There are a lot of boards with numbers. I thought you were kidding when you pm’d me because someone from the surfermag forum mentioned me and I generally do not build or ride those types of boards at this stage of my surfing disease. I thought maybe you were one of my buddies ‘busting my balls’ or one of my Aussie friends having some fun at my expense. Good luck with your search and I’m glad you are making your own board. That is okay rooster. I am 5’11 145 pounds and I am surfing beach break most of the time. I would want it to be around 6’0. I just basically want a longboard style (round nose) and maybe I will try a diamond tail.

Are you asking for drawings, dimensions or finished outline templates that you can trace your pencil around on a blank?
I dunno about these exact bottom contours or anything, but here’s a couple…
EDIT: Yeah these bottom contours are bunk, but you were gonna have to figure those out anyway.,…
and the PDF can be taken to a Kinko’s on a CDR or e-mailed to them–just tell them you only want half that outline blown up to the length specified on the PDF
