Thanks!

Its Done! after months of treading through the mine field of foam, fiberglass and resin its complete. I have got to tell you it has been a fantastic journey. Many years ago I worked in the board business and learned all of the techniques of board design, shaping and glassing . life gets in the way and i have been wanting to start building boards again. so last june #1 was started I worked on it in my spare time and days off. I had the privilege of watching WAYNE MIYATA gloss boards for Bay Cities back in the 70s. when i was glossing this board I was quite pleased with the outcome , but I could hear him saying that looks like shit!( he was a great guy and a pleasure to watch in the glossing room).

anyway I just wanted to share this. as I standing there in 90 degree heat and watching the resin go off, as I poured it on to the glass and having to make a split second decision reminded me of that song “SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO” or in this case should I keep pouring or bail on this layer. Well I bailed on that wetout, pulled the glass off and cleaned up the deck, surprisingly well. I gathered my thoughts wiped the sweat off and figured I better cut back to 5 cc’s of hardner. I got back on the horse or in this case the board and haven’t looked back ( well not really sometimes I’d wake up in the middle of the night, with cold sweats thinking this things going in the can. I guess I have slight case of post traumatic surfboard construction disorder, which i think will go away with board #2. just like to say thanks to all of the posts and posters on swaylocks for the awesome info.
