What is the reason for the FCS MR fins in the fish and the boxy rails?

writing I d e a s takes almost as much time as e x e c u t i n g em…my Ideas are like quik like wow board then watch em happen the rest of the time I listen to everybody else be confused…those are hot I d e a s I think you should make em but modify em on the fly if they look offf bring em by so I can feel em…ambrose…

Wait…I have an even better idea…Let’s start a whole design FORUM! Then people could talk about ideas and share knowledge and whatnot. I know! We could call it “Swaylocks”!

OK, I have to ask, who are those people?

Hicksy

I don’t know, the picture just cracks me up when I look at it…And it fit in with my sarcastic reply…Sorry, I was bored.

Have you been hanging out with ‘rolliges’ / rob olliges lately, tenover ?

Just tell us some of your design ideas instead , Tenover…I like the boards you’ve made and posted so far. That’s what I want to hear about and see, Josh too, obviously.

Sarcasm, the weakest form of humour , lives on the ‘surfer’ [wanker more likely] ‘discussion’ [wanking more likely] forum…you KNOW where ! [Actually, it needn’t live anywhere at all…evict it, I reckon!]

This place is intended for intelligent, thoughtful , and creative people. Sure, humour is great [I’ve been known to use it myself sometimes, but putting down is not funny. This place is great. [don’t let it slip.] Keep up the good designs, and share them with us.

It’s not every 13 year old kid who has good ideas to share on boards , you know…how about encouraging the little guy, eh ?

Josh seems to have more intelligence and creativity in him than 95 % of the “adults” [not] at the discussion forum [s] elsewhere…nurture it, instead of trying to stamp it out.

"share the stoke"...lose the sarcasm...'chip'

Sorry dad, I mean chipfish. My point was that almost every thread on this forum is about different designs, that’s the point. It just seems silly to have a designated “design thread” within your “deign forum”. I’ve already posted pics, descriptions, etc… of all the boards I’ve made within their own threads, no need to re-post all that stuff again. Have fun!

Now Now boys.Lets all calm down or you are gonna go to bed with no supper.LOL RB

Hey is that woman Princess Margaret of the Royal family???Goes to show you what generations of Blue Blooded Crossbreeding can do. RB

thats chip with is air dressersee the tooth wythe the chip, taken from the hidden camera at an undisclosed glassing room …ambrose…that color looks natural

Sorry Ambrose,

That’s my mom and dad. Dad is on the left. He colors it. Mom is a natural brunett. My friends were a bit confused when I brought them home. O’ well. Tenover gets either a ten munute time-out or he has to sand and polish his next long board entirely by hand using only 600 grit. I have no design ideas. I get them from all of you. Chip, thanks for “chip’n in,” I enjoy your photos. Mike

josh-

Didn’t mean to hijack your thread, sorry. Carry on.

Yeah Josh, we’re sorry.

Perhaps you could start afresh with a new thread called Josh’s Design Thoughts. Then people will take it more seriously.

Over to you…

Hicksy

I have always been thinking about a noserider with a turned up edge on the deck in the tail section, like a lip. Facilitating drag and cupping the water.

TenOver, I’m from san Diego and love to ride logs, if you want to go for a session some time hit me up. I’m 17 so you will have to forgive me.

The Con “Ugly” does just that, Point-rat. Ouch, no rhyme intended. I can’t seem to find a decent picture of the tail section to show you unfortunately, but my friend has one and it is just like you say - turned up in the tail with the hard edge on the deck side, believe it or not. My memory’s a bit fuzzy, but I’d almost say it has a bit of belly in that tail area as well…

I always thought one of these would be fun to shape , but I’m not sure how easy they would be to shape…might play tricks on the eyes after a while…

“Speedneedle”, have you come across these at all ? They’re made in Victoria.

Coloured foam blanks ...

I’ve always wanted to make a channel bottom : -

single fin, preferably…

… BUT, this twinny looks kinda fun too, I reckon !!

Two failed attempts I would like to re-visit in the future would be the “stinger” [see ‘share the stoke’] , and a bigger “stand up spoon.”

  1. The stinger

probably 6’ 4 x 20 x 2 1/2 single , with 12-15 " box.

  1. The standup spoon

probably around 6 ’ 2 x 20-22" x 3 [rails] to 1 1/2-2 [deck], tapering to 1/2" [or thinner] tail. (Epoxy, hopefully , one day…)

But first, I need to give in to my aching lower back , neck, shoulders, and ankles [geez, I sound decrepit!] and bite the bullet and make a mal.

(did I really just write that ? wow...there you go!)

First, I'll attempt the nine footer for a 20yo friend. If that turns out reasonable, MY turn !

yep, summer flatness fast approaches !

           "chip"

…as long as I get on the nose, cross-step, coffin , fin first and quasimodo, I think I can justify having one. (oh, and to learn to take off switchfoot…THAT would be my goal for the end of summer!)
