Im new to this site and apoligies if this topics been made already.
the other day i shaped my first board. im only 13 so i this was my first time using a power plane. i got a small narrow old crappy piece of wood used a eletric jigsaw to cut out a Longboard shape i planed for about an hour or to planing the deck and using an old hand plane i shaped the rails i then sanded it with a eletric sander. this boards a beut! ill try and post up a photo once i figure how to use my digital camera.

first serious attempt at 12 ,got an old gordan & smith 7’ 10" and striped it and reshaped a 6’ 8" ,glassed it with an old cotton bed sheet and some gp polyester,made some plastic fins at school , i was so proud of it …
no power tools tho,just wood files and sanding blocks…

just answering this post ,brought back heaps of fun memories…
Mine was 6’ x 21" x 3" thick squash tail single fin. Rode if after board #15, as it was a great small wave board with hard, turned down S rails before bunker boards were invented …1968.
Yeah, messed the glass layup, but it surfed fine, ripped backside, and for such an ugly duckling, totally unstealable.
