Much appreciated Gordof, i knew it didn’t look right! My I.T skills are lacking. Analouge guy in a digital world, first time i’ve tried sharing a vid. Slanj.
Was that a trailer for the next Lord of the Rings movie?
The actual surfing looked great but lost me with the edit. I sat through the first part but couldn’t stomach anymore when the narrator stared again with some poetry.
Cold water surfing paradise. I know the spot & similar to my own trips in Orkney & Lewis. Obviously nae everyone’s cup of tea, but it spoke to me! Slanj.
…what s really good about the editing is that s showing not all the wins, you see plenty of what s happens in reality with those super hollow waves; the disengage of the tail and fins of the Yellow board is a major example; and the retro shapes falling in the take off.
-The other pretty good thing is there s no trace of branding in your face!; you do not see brands in the cloth, surfboards, tents, etc; that s very cool in my book.
Have a cinema camera is the shit no doubt; the movements of the camera are good but a bit cliché.
The surfers/actors are performing very good.
The scenography is very good; the light pretty right for the intended poem, etc.
All the things used like an old camp tent is a refreshment for these type of clips.
And very important, have the vibe without being hipsterish.
The voice is too broadcasting for my taste too; and somewhat not so much intelligible.
Watch it with the sound turned off. The cinemtgoraphy is vey good. Could use some editing as some of the mood shots are a tad long. I do like that there are a number of shots of not making the wave. Good surfing gone wrong
