*The General* Nuuhiwa Noserider with Halo Bead Skeg

Hey Guys!

I wanted to share my signature 1960’s noserider dubbed The General

This is the board mentioned in previous posts which was designed after Bing’s Nuuhiwa Noserider.  Check out the finished halo skeg!

Hope you dig…

Nice looking board. Can’t say I like the size and shape of the fin, though.

It needs a Nuuiwa lightweight fin ! ...........high aspect ( 10" ).....love the board..........it's very  " model  T "

The wood fin at the top in your photo is pretty much the same as the stock fin on the original Bing Nuuhiwas. That’s what I would have put on a board of that style.

SammyA, spot on.....the top fin is from an original "Lightwetght" template !

Love It! That a sweet looking noserider you have there. Surf her with pride! What are the specs?

Bob

Here is the original correct Nuuhiwa fin:

The skeg I shaped is from Wingnut’s Big Daddy template.  I have the original template from the Nuuhiwa, just wanted to do something a little different.

I really like the Lightweight Nuuhiwa fin from SammyA…very nice!  I guess this is a good reason for having a fin box, but I always prefer the feel and asthetics of a glassed-on fin.

Nice job, lot's of work there!

The Bing Noserider fin is similar to the lightweight fin, but with a little more surface area. Since the NR came first, I’d guess the lightweight got a slimmed down version of the same outline. The fin on tommyrocket’s restored Noserider looks like it has a lot of wear at the tip.

Here’s the Noserider, Lightweight & Wave set  Lightweight fins.  The glass on Lightweight may have a little wear on the leading edge of the tip.
