Im getting ready to improve my bay by putting in fixed lights for the painters/shapers shadow effect… what lights do you guys use? and at what hight do you put them? cheeper is better of course and since i live in OR the I have not seen the sunlight in weeks…and it always rains. Thanks again
TJ… where in Oregon do you live? Here on the central coast (Newport) weve had a total of at least 30 minutes sunlight over the past month! But when it gets dark at 4:30 p.m. you can
t expect too much. Today was a heat wave… a sweating 42 degrees! Of course last night was 30 degrees, heavy thunder w/hail hitting so hard that I was sure my pickup had body damage. Tonight`s most optimistic forecast is “worse”. At this point, 70 mph SW winds, heavy rain and 55 degree air temps seem like a heavenly dream…
perfect indoor shaping weather!..flourescent rack high two 4’ers are cheeper than 8’ers bought bobby allen some 8’ers one time…the bill scared me to death those 4’ bulbs can be laughably cheap onsale at the helpful hardware store…yep driving range sand bar sunday morning…jimmy and dennis surfed the playground for hours today(saturday) and stopped by all smiles…happy new year T.J. …ambrose…put an 8"-10"shelf over the top of the light mounted on the wall.to make kind’o a valence to focus the reflected light in the direction of the board…also a cool long shelf to put down tools anywhere along the length so yo can find em quick…they get lost on the floor
yes… I im the PDX area, surfed under the bridge on new years is was real small but clean what a cool place… got gropled on today in PC… good waves…I has sore erms from 50mph rag dolls at mount hood on fri, ambrose thanks…on the way back from the beach we got into a car reck…skidded of the road and flipped into the ditch… real scarry… dude was drivin too fast and hit black ice. my 9’6" fluddered out of the sky to land on a pillowy cushin of snoww… unskathed.now thats some good karma…thank for the wisdom kauai sounds ummm yummy…
TJ… heres a little gift for 2004: that break under the bridge is fickle, can get head high+, often a clean 1' to 4', when working well it wedges out by the base of the north jetty, gets faster as it walls up and unwinds around the inside toward CG station. Can break any time of year. Long rides. Watch for a solid 15'-20'+ SW/W swell on the outside, usually best in earlier morning hours w/any combo of easterly winds, low to medium incoming tide. It
s all yours to discover… have fun!
a goofy footer I am a sizable left I like…Are you a river fisherman? ever surfed social securities? what hand planers do you prefer? thanks for the pic…
TJ, Regarding the photo of those peeling lefts… ask yourself when that point break might be in season. Note which season the Pussy Willows in the foreground are most likely to be budding… “Are you a river fisherman?” I used to be. Recreational in river and lake, professional in ocean. “ever surfed social securities?” Never heard of it. But if its within 75 miles of Newport, I
ve probably surfed it. “what hand planers do you prefer?” Only the sharpest.
Dale being a outdoors guy one of the first thing I noticed was the fresh budding pussy willows…still its hard to get. have you surfed around the bandon dunes area? you know…that spendy golf course… looks like plenty of point breaks in the golf course photos…I havent lived here in OR for very long.I moved from Colorado about 4 months ago,the ocean is my soul I cant be too far from it…Yea all tools that are like razors are the best…SS#'S in is sea side usually small but cool spot…
