the lowdown on the pumpernickle/holly story

what’s the lowdown on mike’s libtech waterboard project?

they came out hot with allot of fan fare and have pretty much gone silent since

got some decent reviews

seems like tech in search of shape

but I’m a fan

anybody?

Dick Cheney Sued He has The Copy Right on anything related to " Water Board or Water Boarding"

Before anyone gets all whiny and their Board Shorts in a Knot.

This is a Joke It may not be a good joke but still a Joke. The above joke has not been endorsed by Swaylocks or any divison or subsidy of Swaylocks.

I will also in advance say My Bad to Oneula For this semi hyjack.

As for the Topic at Hand I haven’t a clue. but thats pretty normal.

mike used to post here allot before his daughter got diagnosed with a hole in her heart and he spent most of the time at childrens hospital in seattle.

He used to use the tagline delbert pumpernickle and post as holly which i assume is his duaghter’s name.

first one i heard talk of nida core, proset epoxy, and basalt fiberglass from russia.

he seem to be part of a holly/loehr/bert burger private composite secret speak club back in 2004

got to chat with Jim Richardson over at Surflight last weekend and he said Mike’s been really hush hush about what he’s doing which he thought seemed a little out of character.

Jim’s done allot as well changing both skins and core since I last bought a board from him.

its amazing how much of this mainstream new technology is decades old to some of these guys who have been there and done that before any of it became popular.

interestingly he’s moved away from carbon fiber cocooned XPS springer cores to EPS ones. He had a used 7’6" and 8" gun that would’ve just gone bonkers at plaskett creek next month.

I still believe in their tech allot but mike’s Darned Difficult 2 Ding concept also intrigues me (maybe Paul Jensen knows something about them since they surf the same area).

anyway sorry to jack my own thread but if you watch this youtube clip of Jim’s soft board’s in action at Jaws you can see what I mean. Just check the surfer’s body in relation to going on with his board… says allot

here’s another one with Jeff Johnson surfing Haleiwa

check out the end part of the top turn and the tightness of the arc he’s getting without any stall
