In my experience its been :
Who made the board ?
Interesting.
We know the name on the board is often not the person who really made it. There are shapers. And there are ghost shapers. And scanners. And mouse-shaper file makers. And file borrowers. And CNC operators. And ridge sanders. And glassers. And glassed board sanders. And polishers.
I wonder, how many boards were actually made by one single person? My hat’s off to those guys who actually carry the process through from design to finish. A rare breed, IMO.
Is my board done yet?
I worked for the main labels here for 27 years .
Their main concern was the label but all made sure the shapers name was on the board .
At the beach or anywhere else it was always asked who made - shaped - the board .
When I made Surfboards Hawaii boards at Jack Revees everyone who came to his shop asked who shaped the board .
To me this has always been the # 1 question .

years ago while at Hau Bush, I saw a gent with a nice looking clear longboard, thin strips of dark and light making up a 5 piece t-band, his name was Keone and the board sported a T&C lable, I asked him who shaped it, he said to me, “Greg Griffin”. That answered my question
If my tell all my friends to get one, can you sell me one at cost?

Is it epoxy or fiberglass?
Oh that’s funny. I have a clueless nephew that was recently shopping for a new board that he could duck dive. That was the primary consideration. I’m still shaking my head.
“how long is it”?

For the young ill informed They will ask a someone holding a hand shaped board. “How many liters is it?” Kind a goes along with duck diving.
Is the the best surfboard? Whats the best board?
Fiberglass or epoxy is probably a common one too.
