The never ending project finally done. Well, almost. Jose Angel Tribute. 11'0"

Barry, I was introduced to Jose Angel, by Buzzy Trent, in 1967.    I surfed with him on many occasions, in really big Sunset. Actually a really congenial guy in the water.     quite unlike surfing with Eddie Aikau, who was little more than a thug in the water, and on the beach.    Your tribute board really reminds me of the 11’ 1’’ pintail   balsa gun  Joe Quigg made for Buzzy, in the mid/late 50’s.     Pintail guns, properly done, are some of the most beautiful boards there are.    Yours is right in there.

Wow, thanks Bill.

Coming from someone who was there, and actually has first hand knowedge, I am honored.

I have so much respect for you and all whom have been doing this craft so much longer than I.

I am a student of all things surfboards. I can’t get enough.

I first worked for Gary Linden at Brewer in Oceanside.

So I’ve seen some really beautiful guns in my day.

I have been influenced greatly by those guys and their stories of all things big wave guns related.

And yes, Pintail guns have the most beautiful lines in surfboards.

I would love the opportunity to pick your brain sometime and talk surfboard.

Thanks again.

Found this today.

Just adds to the legend.
