The Rasta Zebra from the APS3000

This is my first board that will carry our new company name. I’m keeping it for me to knee paddle. I shaped it on the APS3000 and it came out really clean and very unlike one of my hand shapes! Haha! I liked the Zebra pattern but I added the Rasta colors just for kicks… I am very proud to say my 8 yr old daughter stood on a stool and painted a lot of my layout with a Posca pen… The funniest part was when she came to me afterwards and said, “Daddy, me and Mommy are going to the Mall… Can I get my paycheck?” I just about fell on the floor laughing!!!

Here’s my new, “Employee” Hahahaha!!!

The Rasta Zebra… 9-0 x 3-3/4" x 25-1/2" x 20-3/16" nose x 15-3/4" tail. The APS3000 is awesome!!!

Very nice board and the daughter is cute too. She must take after the mother! (hahaha). Anyway at least she does the work and then ask for the money. My daughters expect the money without the work.

Excellent job,

Dennis

Haha! Thanks Manoa… I’m not going to take orders till I get blanks in hand. Even then, I have a little more experimenting with the machine to make sure everything we make is top quality. After we get rolling we will basically have 4 models to go off of… These will be changing slightly depending on the surfers weight… All custom orders will still be cut on the machine… I’m going to keep it fun as this is not my primary income. If it ever becomes a burden then I’ll downshift into the relaxed, friends only type deal… The thing I love about owning my own businesses is I can head them in whatever direction I please… Right now its all about a little challenge and the fun of it all… One things for certain… Surfing these designs daily and making them better is the #1 focus… I really want to take this whole type of surfing way beyond what anyone thought was possible… I see mind blowing stuff ahead… AhwoooooooooooooOOOOO!!!

Just got done with a laminating coat… Here’s a custom version of our new logo… This one has the Pohaku paddle logos inset on the paddles… Just a fun thing for a friend…

I have the number right after Manoa’s. It sounds like you are practicing good business sense!

IMUA!

If you lost that board in a chile pepper field you would never find it…

Looks great btw.

After I finish the board I am working on I think I’ll want to PM you about doing a SUP board in time for when I come to Honolulu in November. Think I’ll have to ship a SUP board though?

Howzit Kai… Haha! Yeah, its a funky design no doubt! You can tell I used to do drugs… Hehe! As far as the shipping thing goes, depends how long you make your SUP board. The airlines tell me 9-6" is the longest but I know guys who travel with longer all the time… They never take a tape measure out on mine when I island hop here… Maybe the major airlines are more strict… Another thing I notice is the thickness and width make finding travel bags tough. My 10’ FCS bag can barely zip up my 8’8" SUP board!
