5’2" x 22" flexspoon.
Moulded straight off the plug.
Currently 3 layers of plain weave 6oz & 1 layer of 4oz biaxial glass/carbon.
Ready for foam rails to be poured.
…so…my question is …
I was wondering , is there any chance of you doing a [step-by-step description , and photos ] " **build thread **" of it , please , mate ?
( It certainly isn’t every day that people here build ‘spoons’ !! )
The last one that I remember seeing here at " Swaylock’s " was by ‘Surferguy80’ [? Ryan Lovelace?] , from memory ? … and I think that was going back a few years , now ?
I started this spoon over 2 years ago, shaping the plug from some spare xps. I then neglected it and occasionally spend a little time sorting it out.
Moulding process went well and it came off the plug with little hassle.
I have been having a few issues with the pour foam, the humidity is causing it to collapse and in places distort the shape. You can see from the pic below that the fusion plug is sitting an angle, this was level when it was installed and began to distort ~24hours later. Same pic shows foam has shrank back ~5mm from the original cut.
Considering scooping out all the foam and starting again, hoping the original shape returns. Or I may just continue and treat is as a lesson for spoon #2
