Perhaps a big request but here goes.
I am currently living in San Diego which is a few miles away from my shaping bay and planer and was wondering whether or not anyone would be willing to lend me or rent to me a bay and tools on the odd occassion. I dont know if this is a done thing but i figured i would give it a shot. I had a friend who use to rent his for 25 bucks a board but he moved to OC.

What you seek is rarely granted. Asking to borrow tools is like asking to borrow wives. Even your best friend is reluctant to comply. Best of luck in your search.
D_Henry, I’ve been known to loan out my shaping/glassing space on occasion (in San Diego, Pt. Loma area). As long as I know you’re not going to plane your leg off or something, anyway… drop me a PM if you’re still interested.
Also we have Swaylocks shaping get togethers on occasion and I think one ought to be coming up pretty soon. That’s even more fun, since you get to meet all the other locals, trade pointers, kibitz, drink beer, etc…
