Tim Bowler in Alaska pic's

I saw Tim last in 1977 shaping boards in Santa Barbara.I just found these pic’s…Keep surfing Tim!

man that last pic… some spectacular scenery.

He still charges and has a really unique take on board design.

Tim is a great surfer and shaper. Also a great craftsman. Tim if you read this I gave Dan Malloy the 7’0’’ bottom half today he couldnt speak for 5 min. it blew his mind you shaped it 32 years ago.

Always wondered what came of the ‘‘shapes and hulls’’ guy who made some very

interesting boards for my Santa Barbara buddies. That water in Alaska looks almost

as cold as Jalama!

Thanks for the post.

Mike

yep, tim’s boards are pretty insane-hulls, flextails, spoons, etc. my friend and his brother use to get their stubs from tim back in the 70’s when he was in SB…for sure spectacular backdrops in those pics…the bottom half KP mentioned is just a mind blower of a board…dan was indeed speechless. he tried to speak but just kept stuttering…"wha, wh, whe, wha, who, i can’t belie, huh, hmm, wha, etc, etc…

Anyway to resize that pic with the mountain background. if you have probls with it, PM me and i’ll do it…

Kirk - I’ve got a dig. camera I’ll lend you for a couple of years. serious

Im workin on it!!

I’ve got a cool little Canon that is an extra one, you can practice w/ it until you get one. give me call when you around here. It will hold hundreds of shots and it’s easy to learn how to store files. If I can do it anyone can.

hey i fully enjoyed those pics of alaska. the waves look fun - and the scenery just unique – that’s some hardcore stuff tho… i’m just amazed what people will do for a solitary surf – makes me rethink how dedicated i really am to surf…

If is more complicated than popping a Tecate.....Putnam might be challenged.....Yo tambien!
