I gave it to a mate to come up with some cool pinstripes. I think he really nailed it. Talented boy that one…

A final sand back and a couple of coats of auto 2k clear, fit the vent and she’s ready to surf… If we ever get any again!

Cheers all…

Shifty!

Thats really rather nice mate…I’m coming to you for some polishing lessons.

Love the pinstripes. Is that Cuzzo’s lad?

I also see you have gone for the scarfed rails over cork…good, good, you’re losing weight.

I noticed the PVC clamps in the thread you posted with the pics by that guy in the middle of America somewhere…ingenious.

Another thing…is that Chizza’s Caddillac? Last timed I saw that was by the side of the road with belching smoke coming out under the bonnet…the F’n Ace of Spades that thing…

Hey mate,

I rather hate polishing. Thats why i never do it! What you see is off the gun finish. It hasnt been polished.

Pinstripe job was done by Sean from over at Chizza’s. Work out of that joint has never been so good since he started there…

Those pvc clamps are a great idea. Im definately not smart enough to think of stuff like that…

The caddy was Chizza’s. Then it was my bosses. Now it belong’s to someone else in town…

The board is lighter than the others, but my glassing is too heavy handed. Ill work it out in the end…

Off the Gun? No way!

I COULD do that, but I can’t!

OK, yeah, I CAN see some pimples in it after all…

But, at least I know where to go to borrow a clamp or 50.

holy cow

shifty, that looks really nice.

i love how nonchelant(sp?) and matter-of-fact you are about the whole build

and then it comes out looking that awsome. that’s great. caddy makes a good backdrop too.

That looks absolutely beautiful Shifty. I mean really, really beautiful.

Could I be as bold as to ask about the valve. Is this something you have had “turned up” by a machinist or something “off the shelf”?

I have a 6’5" “Simmonesque” twin fin built out of paulownia which is ready for a seal coat and I was going to recess and set a stainless steel nut into the deck as I did with my previous board but your set up looks so much better.

Cheers

Rohan

Cheers Rohan,

I had a friend of mine turn them up out of brass from some plans i gave him. I could never find anything even close to what i wanted off the shelf and these only cost me $25 each so

i thought that was pretty cool…

Got to agree it is very beautiful…I showed the pics to non surfers in my fam who all say the same…Very nice work.

Beautiful board shifty. Nice touch with the pinlines. Can’t believe that gloss isn’t rubbed out! I wish i was that good with a spray gun.
