Tinting Fiberglass Overlaps

It’s been a while since I made a board, I’m about to start up a new one and would like to do a resin tint on it.  Something I have had trouble with is tinting, I have done a few tint jobs previously but never had them come out well.  My problem is the areas where the fiberglass overlaps (around corners, nose) the tinting comes out darker than the other parts of the board, because of the overlapping fiberglass.  How do you guys get such nice tint jobs?  Do I just need to be more careful around those areas and try not to overlap?  See the attached picture (nose area).  Thanks!

Make only one cut at the nose. try to cut one of the parts a bit shorter so that it will overlap more or less right against the stringer. lap the other side over this one and, when cured, sand what’s in excess. Another method is to use a razor blade during glassing, cutting both overlaps right on the stringer. Same with the tail.

Thanks balsa, that makes sense

or…make sure your cuts butt up neatly versus those huge overlaps you have there. you can also grind most of the overlap off.

This might help you.
