tints and channels

anyone have any tips on tinting over channels, I haven't tried it but was wondering how to do it well? thanks

Ive never tried doing channels

but

I would be inclined to make some special sqeegies that fit in the channels

thats all I got/ guess

Tint in channels can get fugly - you know how any shaping scratches show up badly in tints? well, with channels its really difficult to screen out scratches to perfection.

And the resin will virtually always pool a little in the pit of the channels, giving you a darker streak along the channel = fuggers.

So I'd only sugest that if you absolutely must do pigment, make it a full solid opaque one. The technique does'nt require a special squeegee - just a gentle touch.

I wet the channel area first, then roll the glass down - UNTRIMMED - Pat it into the channels from the inside first, then cut your lap line.

Work carefully with two squeegees - one with the edge to hold all that pat-down work in place when working the lap with the other one.

Theres tricks!
