Tiny scratch/crack/ding on rail help

Wow, thanks for the wealth of info!  Can you explain why “never sand to get rid of shatters, splints or damaged fibers with water.”?

I was hoping to get rid of this little scratch with just wetsanding (as Huck and McDing suggested before).  The whole repair seems a bit out of my league as a first-timer… How do I determine if my board is bright/sanded/brushed?  When I ordered it I chose wet sanded polish.

Also, what about color matching?  If I use some “clear” resin would that color looks very noticeable on rail?

Don’t overlook CA glue, aka Super Glue, for use on hairline cracks and scratches.       It will wick into very fine scratchs and delams.       When hard, can be wet sanded and polished, same as resin.
