No packages, or sharp objects will be accepted. Ben seems to be responding well to bright colors and shiny objects. If you do send shiny objects: Please nothing with sharp edges, and nothing that can fit into a mouth. i.e. nothing smaller that a Grapefruit.
Jay. maybe it’s you who has gone off the deep end here… and just for that I have kidnapped your squid and I am demanding a ransom of 1000 Clark blanks, 1 million yards of volan cloth, 50 5 gallon barrels of poly resin and tints. They must be delivered to the dumpster behind Winstons in O.B. by thursday at 1400 hour or else the squid dies. I must hear from you by 11:23 hours today or the squid loses a tentacle.
Chip thanks for your concern. I am doing fine. It turns out I just have a case of Coccidioides immitis, aka Valley Fever. I have to take it real easy for a while and let myself heal.
I haven’t had it but I personally know two people who have. One is a secretary in our office who contracted it as a teen but has not had a resurgence since. (She is now 56) The other is my younger cousin who has been living with it for 13 years and has had a few very scary moments. He on the other hand is knucklehead and ignored all of the warning sings. One thing our family has learned from it, is that if you start to feel bad, funky, tired or disoriented at any time, CALL THE DOCTOR IMEDIATELY!!! Now that he’s older and more responsible, things are going very well. He sees the doctor regularly and is now in good physical shape.
My cousin is from Bakersfield where it is not uncommon for people to catch Valley Fever. He has seen some of the top specialists in the nation. Let me know if you need DR’s names and numbers. My aunt has them all.

Thank you.
resin , you really had me worried for a while . Although I enjoy humour usually , THAT one was a bit TOO close to home.
You see, I work in the mental health field , and lost a close friend to suicide a few years back .
I knew something was wrong with Ben , and had been very concerned for a while , I'm relieved it's physical and not mental health concerned , because I KNOW the anguish people go through with mental health problems .
Yes, I might have taken the prank a bit too far. No squids were actually casturated in this discussion. And Shippy I hope you get over this Valley Fever thing, sounds like no fun.
SrPato, thanks, I got a good ID doctor. I may have had this thing for a while because just about the time I got real sick I had been over doing it and not getting enough sleep, I and let myself get run down. I was also shoveling dirt around about that time to. I don’t know, …
My Neighbors son had it. He thinks he got it from riding dirt bikes out in the Romona area. He was out of school for a whole year,
Hope you are feeling better. I ALWAYS wear a my respirator when travelling inland…Never know what “those” people have! Your neighbor probably got it at the Mall.
I’m an occupational therapy assistant actually , when I work in lodges and nursing homes and hospitals . [dunno what they would be called in seppospeak …probably just “duuuuuuude” , like everything else . So benny , what’s YOUR excuse ? hehehhh
