…because of the run of onshores for weeks , on this the first offshore day , the ‘early bird’ only copped the crowds , so went back home , and got his camera , instead…
these go out for “robrhyne’ [? I think it was ?] , who wanted lineup shots of my local to put up on his 'blog site”…
here ya go mate ! [I think ‘chasing lefts’ , aka ?“parker davidson” ? wanted the same too ?] …are you guys still here , somewhere ??
cheers !

There is still a definate lack of banks to handle this size and direction swell … but , it didn’t stop a hundred boogers from dropping in on everyone , though …
Just back from a 2 hour “long lunch meeting” just south of the point swell is cleaning up and the banks are getting better. still got trashed several times fair bit of punch for puss perth…
where is “south of the point” kiricore, if you don’t mind me asking? i’m desparate to find an alternative to the “scarborough to trigg” closeouts of death.
nice pics ben. thanks for the update on the shape quality.
sitting here at my desk feeling left out of the clean conditions and nice swell. wondering if i should ignore my cold symptoms and just go out anyway. but seeing as it’s close out city, i’ll let the other schlubs fight over today.
City beach groyne breaks right in winter, so the action is on the south side, but the action is on the north side in summer.
Cott reefs have lefts, rights, whatever you want. They hold their shape much better than the beachies.
I’m probably going to head to cities tomorrow morning around 8.30 - 9. Swell is dropping but there should be some good shape left. usually only 2 or 3 people out as well.
just south of trigg point in the not so close out of death pits… swell was cleaning up nice when we left at 2pm… Big ones still closing out but inbetweens had some shape.
of course, south of trigg point! i forget that it’s a point.
Big ones still closing out but inbetweens had some shape.
nice. hope you bagged a few.
still got trashed several times fair bit of punch for puss perth…
lots of power in the waves recently. had my leash ripped off my leg recently and have been ragged dolled more than a couple of times after badly timed duck dives. my first winter here and the contrast to summer is pretty amazing.
Yeah mate, cities is totally uncrowded during the week 9 - 2 , then the schoolies will get out in the arvo and weekends.
Cott has heaps of reef breaks south of the main groyne which go off .
The first break is coves ( right), then seconds (left) then Isolators (mal left and right) then dutch inn (big swell, left and right, where i surfed on friday). deep six (left) then heads to artificial reef.
Cott main beach has brilliant waves in the winter, but big crowds too. Dont bother with the little reefs sticking out the sand north of cott, just like beach breaks anyway.
One day , we’ll have to get a surf together too, Shane ! …were you riding your hws fish in those bombs today ??!!
cheers !
ben
soory dude late call at 11.30 to hit the water with the work crew… yep on the hws fish. only board i have ridden for the last 7 months… how was this morning???
