I just moved up here and was wondering if anybody has a shaping bay or garage conversion I could rent. I have my own tools and am very clean, I also can glass if needed. I just plan on doing a couple of boards a month for fun.

Thanks solo I know all them they havn’t heard of anybody. I think I work for the only guy out here that does but he won’t let me use the bay.
I live across the water in WA State. I have a small shaping room in my garage set up. Don’t know if you’re into the travel or ferry ride into the states, but if you are maybe we could work something out.

you could even do seminars at local high schools and wall mart -home depot parking lots…
or even a semi truck trailer

Thaks ambrose always fun reading your posts. I am trying to find a place to rent but no luck I kive in a condo, Hopefully when the tourist season starts I will have enough money to rent a workspace. I thought of buying a trailer but there is no where to put one out here unless you rent someones land. I do have a generator so maybe I will be in luck
iam moving back to the island in june. but ill be down in sooke. were gonna set something up. when i get there . but for now im in coquitlam. what about those guys at board medic. that do ding repairs in tofino. they sell blanks and stuff. iam sure they could help you out. plus i ithink stefan aftans lives up there. local shaper but i dont now him.
Aftanas owns board medic and is my boss. He won’t let me use his bay.

proly easier finding somewere to shape in port alberni. tofino and uke have gotten so damn commercial. every bit of land that hasent been turned into a park. is selling for a premium. who can afford to move there! even uke witch used to be a red neck town is all played out with euro tourist. haha
I guess we had a misunderstanding If I would of worked for my boss for a few more months I could of used his shaping bay. We have gone separate ways but no hard feelings either way I think.
